There can be a screw in the tire and no leak if the screw plugs the hole perfectly. If the puncture is at the sidewall or close to it, a tire could not have lasted that long. It really depends on the location of the puncture.

BTW, who's got PR2s for the best price right now WebbIf no internal damage is found when the tire is dismounted, this puncture can be repaired following industry guidelines and the tire returned to service. This tire has been punctured through the shoulder area long enough ago for part of the nail head to have worn away.

Webb19 juli 2004 · Repaired the tires yesterday, patched from the inside. I had a screw in one rear tire and a nail in the other. Total for both was $40. So far no issue with balance or further leakage. I've since been told that Costco does this for free for members, although they're very busy so the vehicle needs to be left for the day.
