This "fight-or-flight" response fuels you to deal with the threat. Once the threat is gone, your body is meant to return to a normal, relaxed state. Webof “fight or flight” is to use relaxed breathing. The “fight or flight” reaction makes our breathing shallow and rapid to increase oxygen, making our bodies ready for action. If we do not use this extra oxygen by running or fighting, there is temporarily an imbalance in the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide in our blood.
